Satoshi Kon was an artist and animator who directed the famed Perfect Blue. He also made Paprika, an anime that I recently watched. I really love Satoshi Kon’s drawing style. There is a kind of strange atmosphere that emanates from his works.

In this artbook, you find a lot of different drawings. Most of them are final illustrations, sorted by title: Perfect Blue, Millennium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers, Paranoia Agent, Paprika, Dreaming Machine and Ohaō. Four other parts are dedicated to unreleased works, original and early works, comic works, and a commentary section (in Japanese) for all of the drawings in the book.

Everything in this artbook is beautiful, but I’m a particular fan of the “Unreleased works” and “Original works/Early works” sections.
